Vermonster

Sorry I've been so MIA these past few weeks. I've been up in Vermont visiting friends and exploring, which sure was as adventure. I did some great hiking, practiced driving (I don't have my license and it doesn't seem as though I'm going to get it all that soon haha), hitchhiked (kinda), saw some cool animals and ate a WHOLE bunch of awesome food. Because there are so many farms up there, the food is amazingly fresh and delicious. And it just so happens to be home to some of the nicest people I've ever met. Oh yeah, and really beautiful. Don't worry, I'm almost done gushing.

Check out a few of the many (600!) pictures I took below if you want to see what I mean:

 Burlington, VT

 Warren, VT

Warren, VT

 Shelburne Farms -- Shelburne, VT

Shelburne Farms -- Shelburne, VT

I stayed at Wellspring Farm in Marshfield, VT for most of the week where my friend Caroline is working as an apprentice, and it sure was beautiful (the skunks and possibilities of bears just added to the charm haha). Check out her cute little cabin below:

Aaand the rest of the farm:

We also had the opportunity to visit Bread and Puppet, an art and political theatre company based in Glover, Vermont. They have a museum with many of their puppets (some of them are HUGE) on display, chronicling their plays and performances through the years. It's seriously the coolest, especially when you think about how much work has gone into these pieces. I would absolutely recommend going there if you're in the area (or even if you're not). And, if these pictures weren't enough to convince you, there's a great little shop on the main road where I got some fantastic blueberry rhubarb jam.

Seriously, go and visit Vermont (they should pay me for this stuff). I love it there, I'm definitely tempted to pack up and move there, even without a job in sight. And if you happen to be in the area make sure you go and swim in Warren Falls, the coolest swimming hole I've been to in the Northeast. Happy almost weekend! I'm going to see the last Harry Potter film at midnight tonight and I can't wait. Maybe I'll break out my graduation robe for the occasion haha.

Lovely photos, Azzara. I saw a Bread & Puppet performance at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore a few months ago. Except I was too distracted by automata to watch.
