Looks to Like 002

images // pantonism

Who knew there were so many awesome shades of green?  I love all these different textures when they're combined visually.  Also I want most of these things (esp the giraffe bracelet and iridescent polish) with the exception of the Hulk tattoo- I just thought that was kind of fun and beautiful in it's own way.

Eco-Friendly Fashion

Environmentally-friendly fashion is popping up all over the place! Some designers such as Stella McCartney have been using reused, recycled and organic materials for years, but now everyone else seems to be catching on. Finally! Check out some of my favourite picks that use organic, reused and repurposed materials.

Juuust As Good As Van Gogh (Right?)

Don't worry guys, we're still here. It's been a hectic week or so, with lots of moving (me), birthdays (Amanda's!) and super duper heat (thanks NYC for skipping straight from winter to summer), but we're back!

I'm really into green roofs, green walls and really.. green anything. So when I saw pictures of a living painting depicting Van Gogh's painting, A Wheatfield with Cypresses, I was pretty amazed. The picture was created by ANS Group Europe, a company that designs green walls in shopping centres, parks and hotels all around England. They used 25 species of plants and over 8,000 plants in total. The plants were arranged according to a numbered drawing and grown vertically before being installed outside the National Gallery in London.

It will be really interesting to watch how the plants grow and bloom between now and October 2011, when the wall is set to be taken down. How cool!

Pete Dungey's Pothole Gardens

In celebration of Earth Day (a little late, I know... but shouldn't it always be Earth Day?), I thought I'd share some artwork by Pete Dungey, an artist and a recent graphic design graduation from the University of Brighton in the UK. Since the local government in Oxford couldn't keep up with the overwhelming number of potholes sprouting up (pun definitely intended) all over the place, Dungey decided to counteract the problem by planting flowers in the holes instead. Seriously, what a great idea. A super green (gosh, I'm funny) idea to get rid of those pesky potholes. Wish I'd thought of it. Check out some more images below of the pothole gardens:
